There are no Russian citizens among those killed and injured in a hostage-taking drama at a Burkina Faso hotel, the Russian embassy to Cote d'Ivoire said.

There are no Russian citizens among those killed and injured in a hostage-taking drama at a Burkina Faso hotel, the Russian embassy to Cote d'Ivoire said on Jan.16.

"We have just received the latest information: it's absolutely for sure that there are no Russian citizens among those killed or injured," Margarita Kamaldinova, the press secretary of the Russian embassy to Cote d'Ivoire, told Interfax.

At the same time, the Russian honorary consul in Burkina Faso is still getting in touch with a small Russian disaspora in that country to find out whether there could have theoretically been any Russians at the hotel when its guests were taken hostage.
