The inter-Syrian talks could be launched on January 27-28, and not on January 25 as was initially planned, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told Interfax.
"As far as we understand, the UN Secretary General's special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura is discussing the possibility of these talks beginning not on the 25th but on January 27-28. No final decision has been made on this issue to date," a high-ranking diplomat told Interfax on Jan. 22.
"Given that he will have to send out invitations to the governmental delegation, as well as opposition representatives, this will take a certain amount of time," he said.
