EU may lift or limit sanctions against Russia in June — Italian ForMin

This is possible in case the Minsk agreements are fulfilled, Paolo Geniloni says.

The European Union will discuss in June how the Minsk agreements on settlement of the Ukrainian crisis are observed, and if they are fulfilled the sanctions against Russia may be lifted or limited, Italy’s Foreign Minister Paolo Geniloni said in an interview with La Stampa daily published on Friday.

"If in June we see the Minsk agreements are fulfilled, then with pleasure we shall lift the sanctions or at least limit them," he said, adding however as yet it is "too early to speak about it now."
