Russian warplanes destroyed more than 1,300 terrorist sites in 468 combat flight missions in Syria over the past week, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"The Russian warplanes in the Syrian Arab Republic completed 468 combat sorties over the past week, including 24 sorties executed by long-range Tupolev Tu-22m3 bombers from the Russian territory," Konashenkov said.
The combat sorties resulted in the defeat of 1,354 infrastructure facilities held by the terrorists in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Homs, Al-Raqqah, Daraa and Deir ez-Zor, he said.
"Planes of the long-range bomber air force supported the troops of the Syrian government that defend the city of Deir ez-Zor. The airstrikes conducted by Tu-22m3 warplanes from the territory of Russia jointly with planes of the tactical air force operating from the Hmeimim airbase defeated 23 important terrorist sites in this area," Konasheknkov said.
