Russia and Bahrain set to develop cooperation in all spheres — Lavrov

Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain said on Monday that the two countries were set to develop cooperation in all spheres.

"The meeting was warm and friendly. It passed in the atmosphere of trust," Lavrov said after Russia-Bahrain summit talks adding that the conversation dwelt on all areas of bilateral cooperation.

"The leaders are set to develop it [cooperation] in all spheres," the Russian foreign minister added.

Russia and Bahrain are carrying out 20 projects worth several billion rubles, Russian Foreign Minister said.

"We are already implementing or start implementing up to 20 projects worth several billion rubles," Lavrov said.

Russia expects to develop military cooperation with Bahrain, its armed forces already receiving invitations to tank biathlon and air darts, Lavrov added.

"We hope military contacts will also be launched and will be productive," he said. "Representatives of Bahrain’s armed forces have received invitation to our games - air darts and tank biathlon," Lavrov said.
