Moscow says EU migration policy is unprofessional

The European Union has made major mistakes in its migration policy, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday.

The European Union has made major mistakes in its migration policy, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday.

Migration policy of the European Union is pursued unprofessionally, and Russia is not to blame, Zakharova said in response to allegations that the anti-terrorist operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria was the cause of a growing flow of refugees to Europe.

"It is necessary to realize that the flow of refugees will only keep growing until order is established in Syria, until all this chaos is stopped and an adequate base and preconditions for domestic Syrian settlement are created, until terrorism is conquered not only Syria and Iraq, but around them," the diplomat said.

"European colleagues must understand it perfectly well instead of looking for fictitious enemies of Europe and searching them there where they don’t exist," she went on.
