Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will visit Moscow on March 9 and is hoping to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Serbian Ambassador in Moscow Slavenko Terzic said.

"We expect the president's visit on March 9," Terzic told reporters on Feb. 12.

"A meeting with President Putin is planned, I expect such a meeting to take place," he said.

He said "Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is expected to visit Belgrade in May." "The date of the visit is pending approval," the ambassador said.

He did not rule out the possibility of the Serbian president visiting Russia in October 2016.
