Vekselberg: Renova keen on privatizing non-energy assets

The head of Renova Group, Viktor Vekselberg, is interested in buying Russian non-hydrocarbon assets offered for privatization, in particular Alrosa [MOEX: ALRS].

"Of course. The question is, at what price. Definitely [interested in] the non-oil-and-gas sector; as for the rest, we'll be watching closely. Alrosa, yes. In the extracting sector, we are traditionally interested in this story, so we'll be watching closely," Vekselberg told reporters in Munich on Feb. 13.

The current market prices on Russian assets "look quite reasonable," he said.

"The question is, which stake will go on sale, at what terms, how the situation will look like within a company from the standpoint of medium-term prospects. This is the set of factors that will determine the degree of our interest in the assets," Vekselberg said.
