A gas explosion has completely destroyed five apartments, located vertically from the first floor to the fifth floor, in a five-storey residential building in Russia's city of Yaroslavl, spokesperson for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Yaroslavl region branch Vera Pavlova told Interfax.
An alert about a household gas explosion at 25/9, Sudostroiteley Street was received at 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 16. It was initially reported that the blast had caused the side part of a five-storey four-part residential building to collapse, but the Emergency Situations Ministry's regional branch told Interfax later that, according to preliminary reports, one section had been damaged.
The latest information available indicates that at least four people were killed and another four were hospitalized with injuries.
