The Russian Defense Ministry is working out a concept of deep robotics in the army, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov said, in an interview with the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.
"Separate units with the common control system will be composed of attack combat robots in Russia. Such 'robotic fighters' can act independently on the battlefield, breaking through the enemy's defense," Popov said.
He said that the concept also envisages the formation of robotized units, and large formations. As part of the development efforts, an entire range of military ground robotic complexes are being developed, the trials of which have already begun. Upon their completion, combat robotic equipment will be brought into the service of the Armed Forces.
