Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu greeted the military servicemen involved in the military operation in Syria on Tuesday, when Russia observes Fatherland Defender Day, and ordered that some of them be awarded and promoted.
"I am convinced that, as long as Russia has such defenders, it can look into the future with confidence. We are proud of you. On the occasion of the holiday, I have signed a decree on extraordinary promotions and decorations," Shoigu said.
He said the Russian servicemen in Syria are displaying high professionalism and masterly handling of weapons and manifesting the best qualities of Russian warriors, such as courage, valor and allegiance to combat traditions.
