The Coordination Center for reconciliation between the conflicting parties in Syria received more than ten requests in the 48 hours that passed since it started operating, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Feb. 24.
"Now I will tell about tangible results over the past 48 hours. The Center has got more than ten requests from several areas now and Russian servicemen are actively working," Konashenkov said when speaking on Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television.
This is a very complicated job, as apart from negotiations by phone, it also involves visiting different areas in order to implement ceasefire agreements and deliver humanitarian aid to the population, he said.
