Moscow hopes no provocations will disrupt the truce in Syria and thinks the Syrian opposition must not miss its chance of a truce, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said.
"Every time we see that as soon as a mechanism is launched, provocations begin one after another straight away. We hope no provocations [will disrupt] it [the Syrian truce]," she said at a briefing on Thursday.
"This moment, it should not be missed. I mean the Syrian opposition groups," she said.
"Forcing a truce is clearly a wrong approach," Zakharova said.
"There is the platform developed by members of the International Syria Support Group, it is guaranteed by two co-chairs [...] I think all parties should take advantage of this situation," she said.
