ISIL member sentenced to four years in prison in Krasnodar

The North Caucasus District Military Court has convicted a man coming from Dagestan for involvement in activities of the terrorist organization Islamic State

The North Caucasus District Military Court has convicted a man coming from Dagestan for involvement in activities of the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIL) banned in Russia, the Krasnodar territorial prosecutor's office reported on March 5.

The court sentenced Said Aligadzhiyev to four years in a general security penitentiary for "participation in activities of an organization recognized as terrorist in keeping with Russian law."

The indictment said Aligadzhiyev professed radical Islam, joined ISIL and was involved in its activities outside the Russian Federation. He was detained upon returning to Russia.
