Russian, U.S. military discuss situation in Syria

Sides discussed the coordination of efforts in providing humanitarian aid

Representatives of the Russian Center for reconciliation in Syria discussed with their U.S. colleagues how the ceasefire agreement is being implemented.

"A working meeting was held as a teleconference call with the chief of the U.S. Coordination Center in Amman, the International Syria Support Group's representative in Geneva and the U.S. Defense Department's official, who is in charge of the Middle Eastern region," the Center for reconciliation of the warring parties said in a statement posted on the Russian Defense Ministry's website on March 7.

"The participants in the meeting discussed the situation in different Syrian districts, the observation of the terms of the cessation of hostilities by the sides, truce violations, as well as the issues of cooperation in providing humanitarian aid to people in Syria," the statement said.

Meanwhile, it said that officers of the Russian Reconciliation Center and representatives the reconciliation committee, the elders and representatives of the public in the Rouheiba locality, the Damascus province, held a working meeting.

"The sides discussed the coordination of efforts in providing humanitarian aid to residents of the locality," the Reconciliation Center said.

"The formation of a next humanitarian convoy continued," the statement also said.
