Russian Consulate General in Lvov pelted with eggs

A rally held in support of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko

The Russian Consulate General in Lvov was attacked with eggs and a firecracker after a rally and march held in support of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko.

About 250 people took part in both of the events to demand Savchenko's release from a Russian jail, an Interfax correspondent reported.

Some of those assembled stayed on after the rally ended, some people started throwing eggs onto the grounds of the consulate, and someone threw a firecracker or a smoke bomb.

A while later (independent) parliamentarian Volodymyr Parasiuk infiltrated the grounds of the Consulate and tore down the Russian flag from the flagpole for the protestors to desecrate.
