The NATO-Russia Council might meet in the near future, but it would be too early to name particular dates, Russian Foreign Ministry General European Cooperation Department Director Andrei Kelin told journalists in St. Petersburg on April 7.

"There has been some progress in our dialogue with NATO. We are working now to agree upon the time, venue, and agenda of a NATO-Russia Council meeting. I cannot rule out that it might take place in the foreseeable future," Kelin said.

"This is important from the viewpoint of restoring dialogue between the two major security factors on the European continent. I wouldn't say [about particular dates] so far, because certain work is still being done," he said.
