2 militants were killed, 1 blew himself up in attack in Stavropol Territory

3 militants planned an attack on a police station in Novoselitskoye

Three militants planned an attack on a police station in the village of Novoselitskoye, Stavropol Territory, the press service for the Interior Ministry's Main Department for the region told Interfax.

"During the attempted attack, two were killed and one blew himself up," the source said.

The press service said a plan called Fortress has been put in place in the Stavropol Territory.

Security of all hospitals, schools and kindergartens has been tightened in the Stavropol territory after the explosions, Stavropol Territory Governor Vladimir Vladimirov has told Interfax.

"I have given orders to bolster security. All kindergartens and schools have been evacuated in the district center of Novoselitskoye and only 14 seriously ill patients and the medical staff providing their treatment are left in the district hospital," Vladimirov said.

He said he had given similar orders for the entire Stavropol territory: kindergartens, schools and hospitals would be taken under protection.

"It is quite possible this is a distraction and other crimes may be committed," the governor said.
