Indian artist to participate in sand art contest in Moscow

Renowned artist Sudarsan Pattnaik will take part in an international sand art championship in Russia from April 21 to 27, PTI reported.

Renowned artist Sudarsan Pattnaik will take part in an international sand art championship in Russia from April 21 to 27, PTI reported.

Pattnaik will make sand art "Mahatma Gandhi sculpture for non-violence and peace".

The competition will be held at Kolomenskoye, Moscow.

20 top sculptors have been selected from different countries for the championship, Pattnaik said.

"I am very happy to be selected for this championship. I will try to show through my sculpture how Gandhiji s non-violence theory will bring global peace," he said.

Pattnaik has got the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri in 2014.
