A Russian citizen suspected of being related to militants has been detained in St. Petersburg, the Federal Security Service department in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region has said.
The detention resulted from joint operations with the police, it said.
According to the Federal Security Service department, the Russian citizen received terrorist training in ISIS camp in Syria.
The department opened a criminal case on the counts of 'being trained for purposes of terrorist activity'.
A preventive measure is being chosen for the detainee.
