Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Flick.com / MFA RussiaThe drop in bilateral trade between Russia and China is temporary, and the two countries have plans to implement major energy projects, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 13.
“We are, of course, experiencing some negative effects from what is happening in the world economy. Our trade has contracted somewhat. But, as in the case with our other neighbors in the Far East, I am convinced that this is a temporary thing,” Lavrov said, in an interview with Mongolian, Japanese and Chinese media outlets.
Overall, the relations between the two countries “are probably in their best shape than at any previous stage of our joint history,” he said.
