Russian planes fly around Donald Cook destroyer already not for first time

"A quite ordinary" case of Russian planes' flight around the U.S. warship - Russian Defense Ministry

The Russian Defense Ministry said that "a quite ordinary" case of Russian planes' flight around the U.S. warship has been blown out of proportion for political purposes.

"A quite ordinary, for the multiyear history of interaction between Russian and U.S. navies, flight around the U.S. destroyer by Russian aircraft, caused a high uproar this time. Although, nothing extraordinary and unexpected, specifically for the Donald Cook crew (around which Russian aircraft have flown already not for the first time), has happened," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Twitter and Facebook.

"One does not need to be smart as a whip to understand that the cause of uproar is not in Russian aircraft at all. It is in the striving of our Polish and U.S. colleagues already then to use this chance (or the one they have provoked) as a reason for another surge of Russophobic hysteria in Europe," Konashenkov said.
