Number of populated areas that have joined the agreements on the cessation of hostilities has grown to 70, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The number of populated areas that have joined the agreements on the cessation of hostilities has grown to 70, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Facebook.

"A reconciliation agreement has been concluded with representatives of a populated area in the Homs governorate. The number of populated areas that have joined the reconciliation process has grown to 70," it said.

The number of illegal armed groups that have declared their commitment to the cessation of hostilities has reached 50, it said.

Negotiations on joining the cessation of hostilities have also been continued with the field commander of an armed opposition group in the Homs governorate, it said.
