Sergeant Anton Yerygin, who was killed in a strike in Syria's Homs Province, was buried in the Ramon district of the Voronezh region on May 12.
The coffin with Yerygin's body was buried with full military honors at a cemetery in Chertovitsy.
Speaking at the funeral, 20th Guards combined arms army commander Maj. Gen. Sergei Kuzovlev said that Yerygin fulfilled his duty and was killed acting in a complex combat situation.
"He was a worthy son to his parents and an excellent soldier. As befits a true soldier, a guard soldier, he acted courageously in battle. Anton was posthumously presented with the Order of Courage for his courage and bravery when fulfilling a combat task," Kuzovlev said.
A civil funeral service was held at the House of Officers, located in the Severny neighborhood of Voronezh. It was attended by as many as 500 people.
Yerygin suffered serious injuries when militants shelled Syria's Homs Province. Russian doctors made every effort to save his life. However, he died in hospital two days later.
