Russian athletes may be among the athletes from 12 countries who tested positive for doping after their test samples taken at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing were double-checked, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko told Interfax.
"They are now publishing 2008, I guess our athletes will be there, 12 countries are involved there," Mutko said.
On May 17, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said some 30 athletes may lose the right to participate in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after doping samples taken at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing are double-checked.
The IOC also initiated a repeat check of over 250 doping test samples taken at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
