Russian grain exports up 13% by May 18 - Agriculture Ministry

Russia exported 31.861 million tonnes of grain over the period from July 1, 2015 to May 18, 2016, a 12.8% rise as compared with the same period the season before (28.251 million tonnes), the Russian Agriculture Ministry has said, citing the Federal Customs Service's data.

One agricultural year spans the period from July of the previous year to June of the current year.

In particular, wheat exports stood at 23.029 million tonnes over this period, barley exports 4.176 million tonnes, corn exports 4.357 million tonnes, and the export of other crops at 299,000 tonnes.
