WADA set to complete research on Meldonium in mid-June - Mutko

Maria Sharapova was first to admit she had been using Meldonium for years.

The situation with Meldonium will become clearer, when the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will finish a research on the time of its withdrawal from the organism in the middle of June, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said.

"Up to now, no one can figure it out. It may be concealing itself and hiding in the organism between six and seven months. We expect that WADA will complete the research in the middle of June. We will look at their conclusions. I will say it again we will support the efforts of those athletes, who will go to court to protect their rights. No one is going to give anyone away so easily," Mutko said, on air of Match TV television on Saturday.

He called Meldonium an exception in the doping situation, because it happened to be a trap substance with the unknown time of withdrawal as yet.
