Clashes between Russian and English football fans start after the game

The Russian Consulate in Marseille has no information yet on the fate of the Russian fans involved in the clashes before and after the Euro 2016 game between Russia and England that was held on June 11.

"We have no information yet," an official at the diplomatic mission told Interfax when asked about the number of the Russian fans detained as a result of the disorder.

A similar answer was given to the question whether Russian diplomats have information about any injured Russian fans.

It was reported earlier that clashes between Russian and English football fans started ahead of the game between the two national teams held as part of the group stage of the 2016 European Championship in France. According to the latest reports in French media, 35 people were wounded, four of them severely, in the clashes in Marseille. Several policemen were also injured. The Russia vs England match ended in a 1:1 draw. Another brawl between English and Russian fans broke out immediately after the final whistle.
