The Minister of Oil and Gas to lead Indian delegation at the Moscow Forum

The delegation will be headed by the Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan.

India will become a participant of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on 16-18 June 2016. The Ambassador of India to Russia Pankaj Saran said that this year the country will be represented by a large delegation, composed not only of representatives of the India Government, but also of business representatives. The delegation will be headed by the Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan. Earlier it was reported that the Indian delegation was to be headed by the State Industry and Trade Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

"India annually participates in this forum, and we consider it an important event in the international economic arena. This forum is an important contribution to the creation of a global investment network, trade and technology. India and Russia have been long-standing partners in trade, military cooperation, investment, and energy, "- said the ambassador.

In addition, on June 16 the India-Russia round table discussion will be held, which, according to Pankaj Saran, "shows the importance with which the Russian government and business approach India."

"We also hope that the leaders of the Indian companies will be able to meet with their Russian counterparts."

The St.Petersburg International Economic Forum is an annual business event in the economic sphere, which is visited by the heads of major Russian and foreign companies, as well as politicians. India as Russia’s major trading partner, have participated in this forum many times.
