159 populated areas engaged in Syria truce - Russian Defense Ministry

61 armed units declared commitment to abiding by ceasefire

Almost 160 populated areas are already engaged in Syria's truce, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"A reconciliation agreement has been concluded with representatives of one populated area in Homs Province in the past 24 hours. The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has increased to 159," the Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria said.

The center's report was published on the Russian Defense Ministry's website on June 22.

Negotiations on joining the cessation of hostilities have continued with the field commanders of armed opposition units in Damascus, Al-Quneitra and Daraa Provinces in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

A total of 61 armed units have declared their commitment to abiding by the cessation of hostilities terms, the Russian military said.

Up to 5.5 tonnes of relief supplies, including flour, food rations and sweets for children, have been delivered to Al-Qaryatayn in Homs Province, as well as Ain Al-Jauz and Blata in Latakia Provinces, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
