Ambassador hopes Russia delivers S-300 missile system to Iran by year end

Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan hopes that Russia will fulfil its obligations on the delivery of the S-300 air defense missile systems to Iran by the end of the year.

Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan hopes that Russia will fulfil its obligations on the delivery of the S-300 air defense missile systems to Iran by the end of the year.

"I hope very much that the Russia side will fulfill all its contractual obligations and I hope that this will happen before the end of this year," the ambassador told reporters on Thursday.

On November 9, 2015, head of the Rostec corporation Sergei Chemezov reported that the contract on the supply of the supply of the S-300 air defense missile systems to Iran was signed and came into force, without specifying the modification of the systems to be delivered.

On March 17, 2016, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that the issue of withdrawing Iran’s lawsuit against Russia was settled at the political level, also confirming interaction with the Iranian side for the contract fulfilment.
