The Russian side is ready to resume tourist ties with the Turkish Republic in full, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"The Russian side is ready to resume tourist ties with the Turkish Republic in full," the ministry said in a statement.
"In turn, we expect the Turkish authorities to take all comprehensive measures to ensure the security of Russian citizens visiting Turkey for tourist purposes."
At the same time, travel agencies and Russian tourists should responsibly approach the planning of their trips to Turkey and objectively take into account the persisting risk of a terrorist threat in that country," the ministry said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 29 after a telephone talk with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Moscow was lifting administrative restrictions on tourism and instructed the government to start the process of normalizing trade and economic relations with Turkey.
