India may take part in Russian lunar program

Russia is ready to discuss India's participation in the Russian lunar program.

Russia is ready to discuss India's participation in the Russian lunar program, Igor Komarov, the general director of the Roscosmos state corporation, said to Izvestia.

"We are in constant contact with the Indian partners. At the moment we are holding talks about placing adjusting GLONASS stations in India. In addition, they have had enquiries related to the opportunity to participate in our lunar program, and we are ready to discuss it, "said Komarov.

He pointed out that the BRICS countries are currently developing a data exchange project with remote sensing satellites. "We are now discussing this exchange with China in order to deal with emergencies and rapid response. We have agreed to work on this topic on the Inter-agency level," said Komarov.

According to the general director of the Russian Space Agency, in the nearest future,  the scale of cooperation among the BRICS countries, which in recent years has seriously intensified on several fronts, is significantly increasing. "In particular, we are considering joint projects on manned programs as well," Komarov said.
