The decision by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) not to allow Russian athletes to international competitions, including the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, proves the organization's weakness, and it should be reformed, a two-time Olympic gold medalist Yelena Isinbaeva told TASS on July 10.
"What they have made here proves their weakness, their helplessness," she said. "Presumption of innocence is not for them. They are unable to prove who is honest in Russia and who not. They prove their ineffectiveness."
"If I could, I would dismiss this federation, and changed once again the top managers," the athlete said. "They are not effective, they are failing the global track and field. It is clear for all, if Russians are not allowed to the Games, only half of the Olympic audience would be watching broadcasts, which is bad for sponsors. It is bad for the entire global community, which expects our participation."
