A contract may be signed by the end of 2016.

The People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) is looking to buy the Russian S-400 Triumf long-range air defense system (ADS), Kanwa Defense Review magazine reports.

“Vietnam is conducting negotiations with Russia on the acquisition of at least four divisions of S-400 Triumf long-range ADS. Both sides are planning to sign the related agreement before the year-end,” Kanwa said.

China was the first foreign country to buy the S-400 air defense system.  India is also in negotiations to buy the system.
