The technical commissioning of a natural gas production facility at Bolivia’s Incahuasi gas field developed with participation of Gazprom International is scheduled for August, Russia’s Ambassador to Bolivia Alexei Sazonov told TASS on Thursday.

The Russian delegation visited the field this week "to compare notes," the ambassador said. "The facility is 98% ready. We are entering the natural gas production phase," Sazonov said. Formal opening of the facility is scheduled for September.

The field will boost natural gas production in Bolivia by 12%, the Russian diplomat said. "Having understood the practical results are achieved, the partners agreed to expedite funding of this asset’s second stage, which may double production on this field," the Ambassador said.

Russian company holds a 20% stake in the gas condensate field development project, while France’s Total has 50%, TecPetrol de Bolivia possesses 20%, and YPFB Chaco - 10%.
