Russia-U.S.-UN meeting on Syria to be held July 26

The meeting will be held in the Palace of Nations in Geneva

The trilateral meeting in the format Russia-US-UN on Syria will be held in Geneva on July 26 at the Palace of Nations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on July 25.

"We have a constructive attitude for the work with our partners and hope that we’ll be able to advance as regards the intra-Syrian negotiations process," he said.

"The meeting will be held tomorrow in the Palais (the Palace of Nations in Geneva)," he said.

The previous round of the intra-Syrian negotiations was held in Geneva from April 13 to 27 and yielded no considerable results. At a meeting of the UN Security Council on June 29, UN Secretary-General’s special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said once again that he hoped to resume the negotiations between Damascus and the opposition during July, as well as believed that the political process could be launched in the country in August.
