Sergey Ivanov, Chief of Staff to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has awarded the Order of Friendship to Alexander M. Kadakin, Ambassador of Russia to India, for his extraordinary work in raising the level of Russian Indian relations.
The investiture ceremony took place in St. Catherine's Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Tuesday (July 26).
The Russian Envoy’s accomplishments in strengthening the Russian-Indian strategic partnership are well-known and widely recognised in both the countries and abroad. Ambassador Alexander Kadakin has been tirelessly working for decades to boost mutually beneficial cooperation and promote better understanding between Russia and India, both in his official capacity and, through his writings, as a highly professional scholar of India. He has done a great deal for the spread of Hindi as an official means of communication.
The Order of Friendship is a high national decoration bestowed on citizens for outstanding contributions to consolidation of friendship and cooperation between nations and peoples, for exceptional achievements in Russia’s economic and scientific potential development, for the most productive activities promoting rapprochement and mutual enrichment of cultures of various nationalities and races, for fostering peace and friendly relations among countries.
