Lavrov held talks with New Zealand’s foreign minister

Murray McCully is on a three-day visit to Moscow.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks in Moscow with his counterpart from New Zealand Murray McCully on August 17.

McCully is in Russia on a working visit August 16-18 on an invitation from his Russian counterpart.

The issue of formation of a free trade zone between Russia and New Zealand depends entirely on the latter, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following the talks with his New Zealand’s counterpart Murray McCully.

"This depends entirely on New Zealand," Lavrov said when answering a respective question.

According to McCully, the country sees substantial opportunities for expansion of trade and economic ties with the Russian Federation, even amid the current political environment.
