Putin to pay one-day visit to France mid-October

The president’s visit to Paris is due in mid-October.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin plans to pay a one-day visit to France in mid-October, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters on Sep. 17.

Reporters asked if the president would visit France on the occasion of opening in Paris of an Orthodox cultural center. The idea to build the complex goes back to 2007 where the Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Alexii II visited France.

The French side said the opening ceremony is due on Oct. 18-19. The aide added the president’s visit to Paris is due in mid-October.
