Russia demands from Ukraine investigation into attack on embassy in Kiev

The note reads the Ukrainian law enforcers, who are to provide for security of the embassy, did not react to the incident anyhow, - the ministry said.

Russia demands from Ukraine investigating into the attack of radicals on the embassy in Kiev and providing security of the Russian foreign representations, the Russian foreign ministry said on Sep. 17.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry has sent to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry a note of protest following the aggressive extremist groups’ shooting with pyrotechnics the building of the Russian embassy in Ukraine the night to Sep. 17," the ministry said. "The note reads the Ukrainian law enforcers, who are to provide for security of the embassy, did not react to the incident anyhow."

"The Russian Foreign Ministry has demanded from the Ukrainian authorities a thorough and unbiased investigation into this provocative action of radicals and to undertake immediate measures to provide security of the Russian embassy in Ukraine and of other Russian representations in Ukraine in accordance with its the international obligations to protect diplomatic and consular services," the ministry said.

At night to Sep. 17, about 20 radicals attacked the Russian embassy in Kiev, threw smoke pots and opened fire from a salute gun, and only by a happy chance no fire occurred, the embassy told TASS on Sep. 17.
