Iran supplied 38 tons of heavy water to Russia in September, head of the Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom Sergey Kirienko said at the 60th Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna.
"I can inform my dear colleagues that from Sept. 13 to 20 two flights delivered 38 tons of Iranian heavy water to Russia," he said on Sept. 26.
Kirienko added that Russian is continuing to work with Iran on modification of two cascades of the plant in Fordow and the production of stable isotopes.
"Separately, I would like to mention our work on Iran's nuclear program. We have an informal approach to the implementation of the joint comprehensive action plan. We helped them even with those activities that were not related to our area of responsibility," Kirienko said.
Under the agreement on Iran’s nuclear program (joint actions plan), Iran will keep on its territory not more than 300 kg of uranium enriched to 3.67 percent, as well as not more than 130 tons of heavy water.
On Dec. 28, 2015, Iran shipped all enriched uranium and nuclear materials from its territory, which made it possible to declare Jan. 16 as the Day of the start of implementation of the joint comprehensive action plan.
