FSB releases video showing detention of terrorist attack plotter

According to FSB, terrorists planned attacks in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has released a video recording, which shows detention of a member of the terrorist group, which planned terrorist attacks in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The 13-second-long video shows the detention and search were in a flat, where FSB found a automatic guns and a gun, for which the detained claimed to have a legal permission.

FSB reported earlier they had detained 10 terrorists.

"As a result of the operative-search and investigatory actions, 10 terrorists were detained on Nov. 12 in Moscow and St. Petersburg," FSB said. "They had four self-made high-power explosives, which were confiscated."

The terrorists planned attacks "with the purpose of killing civilians in crowded places."

"The detained are confessing contacts with leaders of the Islamic State terrorist organization, outlawed in Russia, in the Middle East region, targeted facilities, as well as allies and the supportive base both inside the Russian Federation and abroad."
