Ovechkin becomes ambassador for 2018 FIFA World Cup

Captain of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) and of the Russian national team Alexander Ovechkin has become an ambassador for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

"I’m very proud to be Ambassador for the FIFA World Cup 2018," Ovechkin wrote on his Instagram page.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held on June 14-July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don.
