Russia Day or Independence Day is celebrated on June 12 as Russia’s national holiday. It all began on June 12, 1990, when the Congress of People's Deputies of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) voted in favor of the Declaration of State Sovereignty.
