Redesigned Russia Beyond the Headlines supplement debuts in the Daily Telegraph

On 30 April, Russia Beyond the Headlines, the international publishing project of Rossiyskaya
Gazeta, debuted a new version of its supplement in the UK with a fresh new look and feel along
with a new name.

The monthly Russia-themed supplement first appeared in leading British paper the Daily
Telegraph in August 2007 under the name Russia Now. Today the supplement is known among
the newspaper’s audience as a reliable source of high-quality news and analysis about Russia’s
political and economic development and relationship with the UK, as well as a place to find
lighter features on Russian culture, cuisine and sport.

The re-launched supplement, which carries the Russia Beyond the Headlines brand name, offers
deeper insights and wider coverage of Russia-related themes. The 30 April edition opened with a
cover story analyzing the role Russia plays in fighting international terrorism. The inside pages
included a feature on Russian wine, what the Cyprus crisis means for Russian business, and the
impact of the late Margaret Thatcher on Russia.

Visually, the re-launched supplement features a fresh, open design and layout developed by the
design director of the Daily Telegraph, which emphasizes more space and more photos.
The redesigned, eight-page supplement will appear nine times a year; and will have an estimated
readership of 700,000 people.
