"We do not see the U.S. as our enemy. In general, we do not have external enemies – or any other enemies, for that matter. And we are not planning to make any. There are some countries that create an enemy image to further their internal political goals; some U.S. politicians do exactly this. They seek to strengthen their political position within the country and win voters with bellicose rhetoric that seems to say, “look how strong and uncompromising we are.” And such rhetoric does indeed work on some sections of the population. But, going back to our relations with the U.S., I think they have developed a very positive dynamic in a number of areas over the past few years," - Sergey Lavrov said.
