Moscow street musicians: Busking instead of science

When an underground crossing is your stage.

RIR visited downtown Moscow to learn more about street musicians. They told many interesting things about themselves: why they play music in the street, how long they’ve been playing, and how much money they earn.

Maria Stanovova has been playing in Moscow’s underground pedestrian crossings for seven years. At first it was great fun, she recalls. But as time passed a lot of things changed, but still she continued playing, because she needed money. Though she has never wanted to start a professional music career.
