Russia: Tips, Tricks & Travel: The Etiquette of Shaking Hands

Our new series “Russia: Tips, Tricks and Travel” takes a look at this often ignored, but very important and completely omnipresent Russian gentleman’s tradition that still lives to this day.

Every country has its own etiquette, some people bow, some kiss on the cheek, but if you’re a man in Russia you shake hands. However, there are many nuances. In the home you can’t just shake hands anywhere, and one winter garment must be removed before making contact with one of the lads. There are many aspects to this cultural tradition and our host Tim Kirby will break them down for you. If you missed it please take a look at our previous episode in the Moscow Metro.
