After almost 24 hours, the whale has been set free.
Sergey DolyaA giant Greenland right whale that got stranded in a river mouth in the Khabarovsk Region of Russia’s Far East on Aug. 10 has been set free thanks to a huge tide.
As the water came in, the massive whale was able to swim away from the shore with the help of rescuers.
It was touch and go for almost 24 hours as those helping the whale struggled to maneuver him in the shallow water. Scientists and tourists helped keep him wet by pouring water over his back. Luckily, the enormous mammal is now having a whale of a time in the great expanse of the ocean.
